City Legend 1. Toron 2. White Knights Camp 3. Harz 4. Talmund 5. Ironwood 6. Windham 7. Silverna 8. Sennheim 9. Kerin 10. Tower of Shadows
Here is a description of all the regions of Arnath I will start from the top and work my way down.
Reus Mountains: These mountains are gigantically tall similar to the Beors From Eragon. There are many rivers and lakes dotted throughout the Reus Mountains, the largest of which is Lake Hanor which sits on the southern edge of the mountains. This is where the Dwarves and Gryphons have hidden themselves from the eyes of the Dark Lord.
Esteril Desert: Describes its self really. Sand for miles around and the only water is from the Hanor River along its western Edge.
Wandering Plains: This was once a thriving area full of villages inhabited by all native races living together but now there are only a few human and halfling settlements left.
Hoerder Woods: This is the retreat of Elves and Centaurs. It is a large dense woodland care for by those inhabiting it. Only the elves and centaurs can find their way around within it which is why the cities within have never been found. The woods contain many rivers but the only lake is Silver lake on the Eastern Edge.
Kelse Mountains: These mountains run the length of Arnath from the wandering plains down to the point at which they meet the Noir Mountains. Few creatures inhabit these mountains only Wolves, Wildcats and Birds. Few now venture here though there are still the remains of villages visible among the rocks.
Noir Mountains and Dead Lake: These mountains are inhabited by all sorts of twisted creatures created by the Dark Lord. They serve as a good barrier between the Dark Lord and his foes though they are few. They are bordered by swamps to the north and The Southern Wastes to the south which are deserted and Barren. Dead Lake is called such because nothing could possibly live in it as a result of the remains of the Dark Lords experiment that are thrown into it. In the middle of the lake is a island that was once a paradise and home of the riders and mages of old but now it is a ghastly place inhabited by the Dark Lord Himself.
Misty Isles: They were once home to many in the days before the Dark Lords take over but now they are shrouded in a dense mist. It is said that many of the Dark Lords forces inhabit them.
Here is a basic description of the cities towns and villages shown on the map;
Tornon:A large walled city at the southern tip of the Wandering Plains. This city is under the rule of the Dark Lord and inhabitants must pay strict taxes. It is guarded by men under the Dark Lords Control.
White Knights Camp: This is where the White Knights have landed in Arnath and set up their base camp. It is from here that they will oppose the Dark Lord and seek allies.
Harz: A Dwarven city built oh the foothills of the Reus mountains and bordering Lake Hanor. It was once a beautiful city and the center of the dwarves trade but now only a small proportion of its former inhabitants live here as the rest have moved further into the Reus Mountains to seek refuge from the Dark Lord.
Talmund: Built after the Dark Lords take over it is situated deep within the Reus Mountains. It is a huge city as most of the dwarves and the remainder of the Gryphons now reside here. It is notoriously hard to find and that is why the Dark Lord has not yet captured it.
Ironwood: This large town located in between the Hoerder woods and the Kelse mountains is inhabited by humans and hobbits. It is not walled and contains a barracks for the Dark Lords troops.
Windham: This small plains village is largely ignored by the Dark Lord as it is so small, however his taxes are still collected. Inhabited by halflings and humans who are mainly farmers. It partakes in a certain amount of trade but few can afford to travel far and so rely on the trade caravan which visits once a year.
Silverna: A beautiful Elven city next to Silver Lake. I was a place of relaxation and celebration for the elves but now they have to be always on alert. This is due to the fact that the city is so close to the edge of the forest it is easy for the Dark Lords forces to reach it.
Sennheim: The elven capital deep within the Hoerder Woods. The residence of Elves and Centaurs. It contains so much magic that it is hard for and other races to survive here for long but the forest and its animals thrive.
Kerin: Once a large port of trade it is now barely in habited by Centaurs and a few Elves. Very few ships dock here anymore as there are few who wish to trade with Arnath now that the Dark Lord rules.
Tower of Shadows: This is the residence of the Dark Lord once home of the Riders and Mages of old it has been turned black by the Dark Lord and it is from here that he rules Arnath although he rarely ventures from is halls. It is said that none can enter with out the Dark Lords permission.
